Micap Basil is produced from pure essential Basil oil extracted from selected Basil leaves. Basil is originally native to India and other tropical regions of Asia, having been cultivated there for more than 5,000 years. It is prominently featured in varied cuisines throughout the world including Italian, Thai, Vietnamese and Laotian. Basil is still considered the "king of herbs" by many cooks.
Benefits: Basil is most commonly recommended to be used fresh in the home kitchen; in cooked recipes it is generally added at the last moment, as cooking quickly destroys the flavour. Drying the herb loses most of its flavour and what little flavour remains tastes very different.
