Micap plc achieves SMART feasibility study award.

Micap plc has been awarded a SMART feasibility study for the exploration of the oral drug delivery potential of the technology. The project will include identification of process steps, actual encapsulation of drugs, delivery of the drug to the mucous membrane of the tongue, and demonstration of the characteristics of drug release on contact.

The project will run for a nine month period and provide reasearch to clearly show the proof of principle data needed to confirm the technology's oral drug delivery characteristics. This will include an initial assessment of the taste masking capability as well as release characteristics.
